Herrera is a self-taught, multimedia artist born and raised in southeast Los Angeles. They aim to promote intersectional access into the arts by prioritizing low-cost methods of creation. The body of work tackles topics such as identity issues, gender roles, societal pressures, and mental health struggles; all which are drawn out of Herrera's own life experiences. Inspired by cartoons, music, current events, and radical figures; this work draws spectators closer to harsh self-reflection hidden behind friendly bright colors and compositions.
